For areas along and south of Interstate 44, a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and light freezing rain is expected to result in snow accumulations of a dusting to 1 inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east central, south central, southwest, and west central Missouri. * WHEN...Until midnight CST tonight. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. A light wintry mix will continue off and on until a band of snow moves in from the west later this afternoon and evening. With this earlier activity, a few slick spots may be observed on roads (especially on bridges and overpasses). A glaze of ice, at most, is possible. Late this afternoon into the evening, a quick band of light to moderate snow will move west to east. Snowfall amounts of a dusting to an inch and a half are expected (greatest across portions of central Missouri), possibly resulting in minor travel impacts.
