The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Central Kit Carson County in east central Colorado...

* Until 500 PM MDT.

* At 424 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing both
  tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage were located
  along a line extending from 5 miles north of Seibert to 3 miles
  southwest of Vona to 19 miles southwest of Stratton, moving east at
  50 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* These dangerous storms will be near...
  Vona around 430 PM MDT.
  Stratton around 435 PM MDT.

Other locations in the path of these tornadic storms include Bethune.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 401 and 441.
 Highway 385 between mile markers 170 and 199.

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 500 PM MDT FOR CENTRAL
KIT CARSON COUNTY...

At 429 PM MDT, a severe squall line capable of producing both
tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage was located along a
line extending from 12 miles northwest of Vona to 3 miles northeast
of Seibert to 15 miles southwest of Stratton, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and golf ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

These dangerous storms will be near...
  Vona around 435 PM MDT.
  Stratton around 440 PM MDT.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 401 and 441.
 Highway 385 between mile markers 170 and 199.

         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

  Stratton around 440 PM MDT.

Other locations in the path of these tornadic storms include Bethune.

This includes Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 404 and

...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR CENTRAL KIT CARSON COUNTY IS CANCELLED...

The tornado threat has diminished and the Tornado Warning has been
cancelled. However, large hail and damaging winds remain likely and a
Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area.  However,
small hail and gusty winds are still possible with these
thunderstorms.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM MDT for
east central Colorado.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Goodland.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for 
Kit Carson County.
