The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  South central Shenandoah County in northwestern Virginia...
  North central Page County in northwestern Virginia...

* Until 315 PM EDT.

* At 243 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Mount
  Jackson, or 12 miles southwest of Woodstock, moving east at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches 
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as 
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by 
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. 
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Luray, Mount Jackson, New Market, Kings Crossing, Shenandoah
  Caverns, and Quicksburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

FOR SOUTH CENTRAL SHENANDOAH AND NORTH CENTRAL PAGE COUNTIES...

At 303 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Luray, or 9
miles south of Woodstock, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
