The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Eastern Gage County in southeastern Nebraska...
Johnson County in southeastern Nebraska...
Northwestern Pawnee County in southeastern Nebraska...
* Until 845 PM CDT.
* At 349 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Tecumseh, Wymore, Adams, Sterling, Blue Springs, Pickrell, Filley,
Lewiston, Virginia, Crab Orchard, Holmesville, Vesta, Rockford,
Rockford State Recreation Area and St Mary.
This warning also covers Highway 136 which will see very heavy rain
between Beatrice and Tecumseh.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

EVENING FOR EASTERN GAGE, JOHNSON AND NORTHWESTERN PAWNEE COUNTIES...
At 545 PM CDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of up to one inch is
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Tecumseh, Wymore, Adams, Sterling, Blue Springs, Pickrell, Filley,
Lewiston, Virginia, Crab Orchard, Holmesville, Vesta, Rockford,
Rockford State Recreation Area and St Mary.
Localized flooding was reported in Tecumseh. Based on radar analysis,
the southern portions of Johnson county likely received the most
substantial rain likely leading to many flooded gravel roads.

Flood waters have receded. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 AM CDT Tuesday for portions
of southwest Iowa and southeast Nebraska.
