...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Florida, including the following 
  county, Pinellas.

* WHEN...Until 230 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 117 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, St. Petersburg,
    South Highpoint, Feather Sound, West And East Lealman,
    Ridgecrest, Bay Pines, Gandy, Kenneth City, Indian Shores,
    Highpoint, Saint Pete Clearwater Airport and Walsingham Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
