...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the 
  following counties, Calhoun, Clarendon, Orangeburg, Richland and 
  Sumter.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 857 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Sumter, Manning, South Sumter, Shaw Air Base, Summerton,
    Eastover, Alcolu, Poinsett State Park, Millwood, Santee State
    Park, Santee Cooper Regional Airport, Mulberry, Sumter County
    Airport, Oakland, Santee, Pinewood, Eutawville, Paxville,
    Vance and Privateer.
  - This includes Interstate 95 between mile markers 94 and 134.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a 
flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, dont drown.
